BLOG SERIES: The Birth of Jesus—Obedience leads to Blessings

Immediately following their heavenly encounter, the shepherds made a decision to leave at once to find the Messiah in a manger. Oh, how I admire their obedience in action. When I reflect on my own life, I realize there have been many times when I felt the call of the Lord and yet did not respond immediately as the shepherds did. I sat on the call, pondered it, and maybe even allowed other things to take precedence until the call somehow just dissolved and faded away. Reading this passage in scripture encourages me to act. I just hope the next time I feel the Lord’s calling; I’ll imagine this scene and seek to follow the lead of the shepherds.
